How the BID ballot calculator works.
For a BID ballot in England or Wales to succeed, more than half of valid votes cast must be in favour and the total rateable value represented by those yes votes must exceed the rateable value represented by no votes. Both tests matter: a comfortable lead on one cannot compensate for a failure on the other.
Scottish BID ballots also require at least 25% turnout by number and at least 25% turnout by rateable value. Choose Scotland in the calculator and those tests will be added automatically.
A forecast is only as reliable as its records.
The official result remains with the ballot holder. For renewal planning, SIVO connects the forecast to the eligible hereditaments, current rateable values, voter contacts, engagement history and sentiment behind it—so the team can see the evidence and uncertainty, not just a percentage.
