Questions

Food safety app: the short answers.

Is a food safety app acceptable to an environmental health officer?

Officers want to see that checks are done, failures are acted on and records are kept. Last Orders keeps every reading with who took it and when, corrections beside the originals, and produces the records as one controlled document.

Where do the temperature limits come from?

From Food Standards Agency guidance, for example fridges at 0 to 5°C, hot holding above 63°C and reheating to 75°C at the core.

What happens when a reading fails?

You pick a corrective action in one tap and a recheck is booked thirty minutes later. Cooling books its 90-minute reading automatically.

Does it work without a signal?

Yes. Checks save as drafts and record offline, then sync when the phone is back in range.

Does it replace Safer Food, Better Business?

It records the checks SFBB asks for and drafts a HACCP plan from them, which you confirm. Whether that is enough for your business is a question for your local authority.
